Bavaro Express

The Bavaro Express is a bus line between Santo Domingo and Bavaro which is the hotel area of Punta Cana. It only costs 375 Pesos which are about 7,50 EUR for one ride - incredibly cheap considering a 4-hour air-conditioned ride. The busses are all cleaned and comfortable and most importantly ON TIME. They even show a movie though without tone and subtitles it wasn't too much fun :D



The schedule for both ways each day is:
  • 07:00

  • 14:00
  • 16:00
The bus stops at the following locations in Bavaro:
  • Parador la Lechosa
  • Primer Policía acostado de Verón
  • Expreso Verón
  • Pueblo Bávaro
  • Marqueta
  • Coco Loco
  • Puerta principal de todos los Hoteles
  • Plaza Comerciales
  • Bomba de Gasolina Friuza
  • Hormigones
  • Machiplan
  • Ibera Star
If you want to go to a hotel, just ask the driver to stop there because he won't tell otherwise...

There are also busses between Santo Domingo and Punta Cana Airport.

    I am going from santo domingo to punta cana dreams resort. Which stop i have to stay on and can i catch a cab there. And how much

      Hi Darla,

      I don't know each resort but the bus driver will! You just ask him and he will tell you where to get off and mostly it's directly at the entrance of the hotel. Other than that, there are cabs outside everywhere but be aware. Cabs are expensive in Punta Cana because they know, only tourists will take cabs. That's why they also take USD. I once payed about 10 USD for a 5 min ride from the hotel to another bus station because out luggage had a loose wheel. That would be fine for me in Europe but it's NOT normal for the Dominican Republic - I mean just look at the bus ride - about 10 USD for a 4h ride from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo and the same price for 5 min within Bavaro?! Avoid cabs, if you can...

    Thanks chinita, I will be on a medical mission in San Pedro de Macoris. And want to go from there. Where exactly is the buss at?

      I would suggest asking a local or calling one of the above telephone numbers. I can't tell you where the exact bus stop is because there are no bus signs anywhere. The only stations that are absolutely clearly located are La Gomez and México en la Duarte. That's where we enter the bus from Santo Domingo. I just see people going on and off the bus...
